Zoom: The Newest Verb

If you need to search the internet for something, you do a “Google” search. When you overnight a package you “FedEx” it. If you must blow your nose, you use a “Kleenex.” When you have an online video webinar or conference call, you have a “Zoom” meeting.

First, every brand strives to be the verb of their industry. That means you’re the standard by which every other brand must run through to be successful. From my view, I’ve never seen a brand get recognized as a market verb so fast. Within a couple of months, Zoom has become the standard and benchmark for video conferencing. While Microsoft Teams, Skype and Cisco’s Webex are pulling their hair out with envy, trying to achieve the status Zoom has today.

Zoom is currently the most popular Apple download and second most popular Android download in the world! Today, Zoom offers free video conferencing for up to 100 participants, with a 40-minute time limit. If you want longer meetings, you have to pay for it. I’ve used all of these platforms, and trust me, the free component of Zoom is not the reason for their success. For many reasons, in my opinion, Zoom out preforms all other rivals.

Looking for something good coming out from the coronavirus, how about Zoom?

My two cents.
